Hideo Kojima says MGS5 could have Kinect and Smartglass features

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain director Hideo Kojima has said that Kinect and SmartGlass features could appear in the Xbox One version.

During a video interview, transcribed by Gaming Bolt, Kojima stated that he was "really looking forward to the graphics power" the machine was capable of.

"brings a lot of different capabilities," he said of Kinect "and I will like to see what I can do with the voice command, and the movement with the gestures and see what we can do with that."

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain was first shown off at Microsoft's E3 press conference. It seems the Redmond giant has certainly won him over, although quite how will probably remain a secret.

Unless it's a way to skip the cut scenes I'm not interested.

A thing that worries me is smart glass was mentioned alot in the E3 conference it seems a lot of games had smartglass enhancements like Dead Rising where they called in the Airstrike. I was wondering if you will be able to do these things without smartglass or not.

But the important question, is if the stupid AI don't notice a horse with a dude hanging off the side "stealth my bollocks!) then are they going the hear me through the Kinect when I say "I can't believe these morons haven't seen me!" ??? Absolute shite! That and Deadrising getting smartglass only missions, what utter shite!

MGS without cutscenes was 5 hours on a speed run :P Not happy with allt his smartglass stuff etc. I know it's good stuff, but trying to get me to have a mate sit by my side and 'play the second player' on it is not going to happen. And giving me missions just to play with it, I don't want that either. The only app I want is the ability to access the PS Store from my phone. Simple.

Actually MGS5 was first shown off at GDC earlier this year. Also, considering MS has mandated Kinect and Smartglass integration for all games it's not like Kojima has a choice in the matter really. Still, I laughed at the "looking forward to the graphics power" of the Xbone quote, considering when the PS4 was unveiled he was quite dismissive of "graphics power" and that was a more powerful console. Would be really sad if this was still him holding a grudge with Sony over Peace Walker's "failure".
