Indie category launches on PS Vita store

Sony has launched an Indie category on the PlayStation Vita, which comes after it launch the same category on PS3 last month.

The first titles to benefit from the new category is Hotline Miami, while games such as Spelunky, Terraria, Flower, Luftrausers, Hohokum and Counter-Spy will also be released for the PlayStation Vita.

According to TSA, popular mobile publisher Chillingo have also announced that they’ll be bringing their games to PlayStation Mobile, starting with Feel Me Oil, which will be released today, followed by iBomber Defense, Roll In The Hole and Little Acorns.

We wouldn't be surprised to see an Indie category on the PS4 store when the console arrives later this year.

Only Sony can do things that every other console does and make it news.

Can't remember seeing indie games being actively promoted and pushed to the forefront of any other console's digital storefront in recent times.

It's on the front page on both the 3DS and the E-shop. Don't use PS3's but I'm sure it's there. But really take away the indies and PSV has little else. They pretty much HAVE to show it.

Guess this is where to put it. But the kickstarter stretch goal for Wii U also includes PS4 and Vita too. So nice if you wanna get a proper new JRPG http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/disastercake/soul-saga-a-j-rpg-inspired-by-playstation-classics
