Now TV now available for PS3 owners

Sky's Now TV is available on PlayStation 3 after going through a successful Beta.

The internet TV service from Sky allows access to both Sky Movies and Sky Sports. A monthly pass will gain you access to the Movie channels for £15 per month, while access to sports is on a pay-as-you go basis at £9.99 per day for a Sky Sports Day pass.

New customers can get a free 30 day trial for movies and benefit from a three-month introductory offer of £8.99 a month although you'll need to cancel your contract if you don't want to be forking out £15 per month after three months.

Sky 1, Sky Atlantic, Sky Arts and Sky Living programs are said to be coming soon to the service.

"Adding Sky's amazing content via NOW TV to the PlayStation 3's services is a real boon for our millions of UK customers, said Sony Computer Entertainment UK boss Fergal Gara. "Streaming great and exclusive sports and movie content to the family TV is a huge enhancement to the PlayStation entertainment portfolio."

Why would anyone use this when they could just pick up a remote and change the HDMI input

It's for people who don't have Sky to have access to Sky channels, however if you watch sport like me £10 a day is far too much because I would be spending £30 a weekend for F1

For those one-off events! I guess they've made a killing on it, they've been doing it for a while. 4 days of sport and a month of movies, you may as well just get a damn sky box.

Tried this on the 360 a few months ago as they were giving 800 MS points for trialing it. It is pretty poor, doesn't even stream movies or sport in HD, just standard def. Not worth the money at all.

Because you can only have 2 devices on Sky Go and this probably makes them a metric fucktonne of money.

Just catching up on news - while the overall cost of this service seems quite high, the free month offer (which also seems to come with 90 days free PS Plus seems very good to me, thank you very much! Going to cancel Netflix and try this out (and hopefully both companies then try and tempt me to stay with future offers).

Yeah, you get 90 days free PS Plus which is great news really. I'll sign up for the free trial then cancel it.
