Microsoft to introduce new Xbox LIVE Rewards scheme

Microsoft has is to unveil a new version of its Xbox Live Rewards program which will begin on September 1.

“Since this currency change is impacting the structure of the program, we’re taking the opportunity to make Xbox Live Rewards even better.

“You’ll continue to get rewarded for doing the things you love on Xbox Live – just not with Microsoft Points. So come back to rewards.xbox.com on September 1, 2013 for the full scoop.”

There is no indication as to what the new rewards will be at the moment, but with Sony putting pressure on Microsoft with thanks to the popularity of its PlayStation Plus scheme, we'd expect Microsoft to pull something out of the box.

We'll update you when we know more.

XBL Rewards is a bit crap TBH. Most of the surveys have been about multimedia stuff

About time, us European users are screwed over with the rewards scheme. I would prefer free games but not from games released on launch or shit enough to be in bargin bins.

Free stuff is always nice, but I still get pissed off whenever I hear about that Bing rewards, whenever someone talks about that it sounds so good.
