Forza 5 requires internet connection before it can run

Although Microsoft has changed it's DRM policy, Forza 5 will still require an internet connection to run.

In a recent interview Turn 10 boss Dan Greenwalt told IGN that you’ll have to connect once and download certain content as this will not be included on the disc.

“When you first boot up the game, we’re going to ask you to log in,” Greenwalt said, “and when you log in you’re going to get the Drivatars and you’re also going to get a whole bunch of content: tracks and cars. Our production schedule is such that we are putting them in as late as possible and that means making them free as downloadable content on Day One.

“That is required content to play the game. We basically have designed the game to work with all that content no matter how late is coming in, in order to make the biggest game possible.”

Once you have performed the above download you'll not be required to connect again, although Greenwalt says the game will be better if you do as Drivatars will only be continuously updated in this way.

I don't much see the issue with this. Outside of the "if I don't have internet, I can't play it" thing, but what I do see an issue with is what I'm reading there is essentially mandatory patching! Not sure I like that probably MS' biggest launch title won't be complete in time for launch!

Wonder how many more games will need to be connected to the internet to run. I reckon there wont be many games you can play with no internet connection what so ever.

It would be like buying MAG without an internet connection really. It gives you everything you need once you log in, so I don't really see a problem with it.

Please describe the nature of the abuse:
