Listen: Red Hot Chili Peppers release six new standalone tracks

Red Hot Chili Peppers have released six new tracks to round off their I'm With You Sessions collection.

The collection has taken the form of nine single releases, each with an A-side and a B-side. Each track was recorded whilst the band were working on their 2011 album 'I'm With You' but for whatever reason, didn't make the final cut.

Although the band's original plan was to release one pair every month, starting last August, the last three were delayed before finally hitting the net today. There's a great mix of sounds amongst the new tracks, including some surprising experiments with spoken word versus from Anthony Kiedis in 'Open/Close'. There's also some funky guitar work from newcomer Josh Klinghoffer in 'This is the Kitt', which wouldn't have sounded out of place on the band's 1991 breakthrough album 'Blood Sugar Sex Magik'.

'I'm With You' saw the funk-rock band return in August 2011 and is available to download on ShopTo now.
