Sony to focus on PS4 at Gamescom

Sony has took to Facebook in order to lay down it's intentions for this year's Gamescom and it looks like it will once again be focusing all of its energy on PS4.

“With the buzz around PlayStation 4 building, 2013 continues to be one of the most exciting years ever for video games fans. A host of next generation titles were unveiled at the PlayStation Meeting 2013 and E3 2013. At gamescom in August 2013 the focus will be on PS4 and its games line-up once again.”

So what does this mean? Well new games of course and Sony plenty has certainly in the pipeline, just remember that we are still to hear from Naughty Dog, Sony Santa Monica, Studio London and a whole lot more.

Excited?

I understand wanting to focus on the PS4 but they keep mentioning about how they have loads of games lined up on the Vita and never bloody mention them.

Well, seeing as the Vita is more or less a failure outside Japan you can understand why they're reluctant to put too much of a spotlight on it at these big events... but regardless, there are a lot of Vita titles still to come it seems. For some reason Sony pulled Vita title announcements at E3, but insiders seem to be sure they'll not be pulling Vita's content at Gamescom, it's just that PS4 is obviously the bigger focus. Only thing known for certain at this point though is that there are definitely games still in development for Vita(Both first and third party) that aren't yet announced. How many exactly is anyone's guess right now though.

Thats the problem though it will continue to be a failure until there are actual decent games coming out for it. Looking at the coming soon on shopto there are only 2 exclusives killzone and tearaway (Ruin does not count as thats been cancelled.)

Well, there are several more games than those two coming this year, exclusives and non-exclusive to be fair. I haven't looked at Shopto's Vita section in a while but it seems they aren't listing half the stuff announced as coming, like Ys Celecta, Valhalla Knights 3, Toukiden... pretty sure there's a couple of other JRPGs announced as well. Not a huge amount of stuff perhaps, but Killzone and Tearaway are hardly the only titles coming, just the most high profile ones.
