Sony and Panasonic working on next wave of Blu-Ray

Sony and Panasonic would like the next version of Blu-Ray to hold 300GB of data, with an ambitious date of 2015 being set by both companies.

According to a BBC report [via],  4K movie running at 1080p use up at least 100GB of data and with new games machines set to join the fold, more data space than the current 50GB limit would no doubt be welcome.

300 GB does seem a bit extreme, but we're sure someone out there will find a way to fill a disc up.

What do you think?
