Monster Hunter Frontier coming to PS3 and Wii U in Japan

Monster Hunter Frontier is to be released on PS3 and Wii U on November 20th and December 11th respectively in Japan.

A new Famitsu report suggests that the game, which was previously released on Xbox 360 and PC, will arrive as a free download, although you will have to pay a ¥1600 subscription fee, if you live in Japan obviously. A Beginner's Pack will also be availble at retail for a whopping £40 (¥6090).

Monster Hunter Frontier will launch with a free one week trail before the game’s full launch.

What do you think? Is this something you'd like to see in the west?

You shouldn't write these kind of news... it breaks my heart to know that I will never be able to play this... now even on the PS3...

Jacob thats true but it has been out on the 360 and PC for a few years so not too sure if it will come over here. Would love to have the 360 version over here as i know quite a few people that would play it.

You do know you can play it even if you aren't in Japan right? There are ways around all this

True but the whole reading japanese is a problem. The 360 one is region locked but suppose the PC and PS3 wont be.

There will be guides on how to navigate the menus or you could just always have a Japanese dictionary up on your 2nd screen

To the surprise of no one, Capcom has finally come to the conclusion Nintendo consoles can no longer carry their biggest franchise alone and are taking the MH IP multiplatform (As Square-Enix recently did with Dragon Quest) as it always should have been. At this point I expect the home version of MH4 to be on PS3/360 and maybe next gen as well. Wonder if it'll even appear on Wii U at all though at this point...

Strange conclusion to jump to from news that a PC/Xbox MMO is getting ported to other consoles, I don't see any mention of anything changing with the main MH franchise.

Yeah seem to remember seeing that nintendo have a contract with capcom for new monster hunter games until at least 2015. So i wouldnt expect to see them anytime soon. Still hold hope that these will come out over here.
