No more characters or stages for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale

Sony has confirmed that it'll no longer be releasing new characters or stages for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

Support will still continue in terms of patches for gameplay fixes, with one due later this year to address the balance, while a third set of costumes will be released for Dante, Raiden, Heihachi and Big Daddy that were only exclusively available as pre-order bonuses in the US.

Zeus and Isaac's third costumes will also be made available free.

Are you still playing PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale? Let us know.

I've not played it for ages. It was a good game but the online was busted so I never got round to playing that and haven't gone back yet.

From what I heard, it was. But when it got its first patch, which was the same time I got it, it busted the online play. By the time it got fixed, I had already stopped.

I don't recall ever calling the online in PSAS "brilliant", but it was very good for the most part until Superbot were cut loose from post game support. SSM didn't give the game nearly as much attention once they took over. Shame it's come to this, seeing as the next batch of DLC planned looked great, with new characters like Abe from Oddworld and Dart from Legend of Dragoon.

I can see this being part of PS+ in the future, the question is "Do I buy it now or wait for a PS+ release?" I'm going with the latter
