Listen: My Chemical Romance's Frank Iero shares solo demo

Frank Iero, known for being the former guitarist in My Chemical Romance, has released a solo demo, following the band's split earlier this year.

The song, 'Joyriding', was written after the guitarist was inspired by a Kerrang! journalist, during a conversation the two had about creativity. In a blog post explaining the release, Frank Iero said:

"Sam and i had talked about inspiration and creativity, and i told him i go through periods of making things and then a week later hating everything i've made and destroying it all. i told him i'd like to try and experiment with creating something and releasing it before i have a chance to hate myself for making it. so when i wrote this song it almost seemed like a dare..."

My Chemical Romance officially split earlier this year, making 2010's 'Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys' their last album. It's available to download now on ShopTo
