gamescom 2013: Sony announces new 5 PS4 titles

Sony have announced that a new slew of independent games will be hitting the Playstation 4.

The Chinese's Room's next game will be 'Everyone's Gone To The Rapture'. The team behind the surprise PC hit Dead Esther's new title will be exclusive to the Playstation 4. The CryEngine 3-powered game trailer didn't give that much away in terms of gameplay but did end with "the story begins with the end of the world."

Rime is a new open world title with an art style not dissimilar to ICO. It's being developed by Tequila Works, the team that created Deadlight.

Helldivers from Arrowhead, the studio behind Magicka, is an isometric coming to PS4, PS Vita and PS3 as a crossbuy game.

Resogun, a new sidescrolling music shooter from Housemarque

Sony also announced that Shadow of the Beast has been re-imagined for the PS4 in a brand new title.

Meh, none of them interest me in the slightest. Don't really care about indie games if I'm honest.

Indie is not a genre

Never said it was, I said I don't care about indie games, which includes them all.

Helldivers looks ok but nothing really grabs me.

So you don't care about any game that didn't/doesn't have a publisher? Great reason

No, just 95% of indie developed games are rubbish crap that I wouldn't play if I was given them free.

How do you like horror games Whitey?

Not really. Why would I waste my time and money playing mediocre games that have the quality of a Facebook game, when I could be playing a much higher quality blockbuster game.

Horror games are good, when they are done right.

I did try it when I had my laptop but it didn't run too well so I left it. Didn't see much of it but was ok I guess.

Really? Amnesia can run on a potato

It was a really old laptop, not even a gaming one, just general browsing capabilities. Also, what model potato does it run best on? the P700N?

I'm not a huge fan of most indie titles, but there are always some that break the mold and others that are just insane enough to be hillarious. but in all seriousness some of the worst games released are blockbuster titles and some of the best games in history have been 'indie'

I never used to be a fan of indie titles until I got a bunch free with PS+. I downloaded them anyway thinking I'd give them a shot to pass the time and actually most of the ones I've played have been superb. I'm really looking forward to future indie titles; they remind me of old PS1 games.

Shadow of the Beast! That is all we need. That's up there with the announcements of syndicate and XCom re-imaginings. Lets hope SOTB is closer to the quality of the latter. Roll on the indie games man. These guys are future blockbuster devs in the making, the more support they get, the better
