Battlefield 4 runs at 60 FPS on next gen consoles

Battlefield 4 will run at 60fps on next-gen consoles.

Why is this good news? Well, for one multiplayer maps will include huge dynamic events which change the landscape dramatically, while other events will also make instant changes to the maps. So with all of this going on, a stable framerate is going to make a huge difference to gameplay.

Battlefield 4 arrives on PS4 and Xbox One at the launch of the consoles.

Framerate and dynamic environments are two completely separate issues. Framerate improvement will give a smoother experience which not only looks better but helps a great deal when doing precision aiming on moving targets when you don't have to worry about compensating for delays (less need for the system to artificially aim assist too). The dynamic events just look nice and shift gameplay functionality when done correctly

I think it means to say that the FPS won't drop below 60 when a building is collapsing right on top of you

Most console games have been capped to 30fps for years, and generally didn't handle large dynamic events well. Improved framerates and better in-game event processing are both improvements, if they did one and not the other it could cause problems, but they don't actively support each other. I'm just glad developers will no longer be having to limit their games because 'current gen consoles can't cope with the features'

Well the FPS would drop on a lot of games if something big happened & for MP that is a no no. Example: I was playing Dark Souls a while back stream sniping Peeve (Peevepeeverson) & while we were fooling around with bows he got a headshot on me, my FPS slowed to a crawl but on the his screen/stream it just looked like I was standing still

The question is: Can you run it?

Don't know what the system requirements are, but most likely at least on high yeah. I play BF3 on ultra at over 60fps.

I do hope this is locked at 60. I would rather have locked 30 than 60 that keeps dropping during hectic moments

It will be a steady 60FPS, that's what the story is about
