Speaking at in a video interview at gamescom 2013, DICE's Lars Gustavsson teased the idea of a similar mode to Battlefield 2142's Titan gameplay mode, returning in Battlefield 4 at some point in the future.
Creative Director Gustavsson said that it’s on the list of ideas, and that they currently on what form upcoming DLC may take. He went on to say that said that the team at DICE was capable of making a game mode like Titan for Battlefield 4, praising the big talent at the studio.
Can't remember Titan mode from BF2142? Well, two teams each control a large, slow aircraft carrier known as a Titan. On the ground, forces must control several missile sites which fire missiles at the Titans, depleting their shields in an attempt to board the ship. The more control points a team has, the more missiles are launched at the enemy titan, and the faster the shields are brought down. Once the shields are down, players can board the enemy titan and destroy the inner core, destroying the Titan and winning the game.
Battlefield 4 is out this October on PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and on launch for the PS4 and Xbox One.
