IllumiRoom too expensive for Xbox average customer

Remember the Xbox augmented reality project known as IllumiRoom? Well don't expect to see it on your Xbox One any time soon.

Although the new tech could realistically come to Xbox consoles, currently it's being described as "just research" according to what Xbox One head of product planning Albert Penello told AusGamers.

"It's really super-neat if you're in the lab and you've got Microsoft money and you could totally set up this awesome lab, but... we looked at it, but for an average customer it's, like, thousands of dollars [for the set up]."

There was no mention of IllumiRoom during the Xbox One event at this year's E3. Not surprising really.
