Digital Extremes has today announced that Warframe, its popular Free-to-Play game, will be console exclusive to the PlayStation 4 for three months starting at launch on November 15 in North America and November 29 in Europe.
“With how the industry is evolving, this really is the Player Generation,” said Steve Sinclair, creative director at Digital Extremes. “Games are reaching players hands in so many different ways now and Sony gets it, which is why we are bringing Warframe exclusively to the PS4 first. There’s no reason not to download Warframe on day 1 if you’re an action game lover – it’s free!”
As a co-op focused game that thrives on community and clan-building, Warframe will take full advantage of the social connectivity and community building features coming to the PlayStation 4 system. Some of the features involve the new enhanced Dualshock 4 controller that offers integrated audio, touch-pad controls and gameplay streaming capabilities. Additionally, 2nd screen functionality will come in the form of an Android and iOS App called Warframe Nexus. This companion app will allow players to perform in-game tasks and provide pertinent real-time game info while away from the PS4 system such as alerts to critical missions, crafting and building inventory, and scheduling gaming sessions with friends just to name a few.
More information on Warframe for the PlayStation 4 will be revealed in the coming months.
