Tuesday Chat, September 3

GTA V seems to be all that anyone is thinking about this month. So what we want to know is what's the appeal to your as a gamer? Just why is GTA such a popular series and why does the gaming world seem so hyped up when it comes to all things GTA V.

Have you pre-ordered GTA V? If you haven't why not, why doesn't the game appeal to you?

Let's Chat!

I havent pre ordered it I can understand the appeal of the game but its not for me anymore really enjoyed the first 2 top down ones and the London spinoff pack. Liked 3 but then lost interest gave 4 a go but it came across boring to me.

I have it preordered, but I'm not half as hyped as what a lot of people seem to be, I remember seeing on a forum somewhere ages ago that someone was counting down the days, as soon as the release date was revealed.

I was jaded by GTA in general after IV was released, but V seems to do everything right for me. I think the series as a whole is so popular because it was one of the first sandbox games that threw linear gameplay out the window. Yes driving at full speed in the first two was pretty much a death sentence, but it was amazing that you could do what you wanted when you wanted. I definitely have it preordered, but my most anticipated game of this year has to be the re release of FFX. Can't want to journey back to Spira!

I haven't preordered it as I'm not that fussed about playing it straight away and boring real life stuff has limited my gaming to only an hour an evening and some weekends so I don't have the time to play another sandbox game (currently chugging through ni no kuni). Also whilst I really enjoyed GTA IV I spent far too much time on the side quests so got bored of the game quite near the end and never completed it. Have always meant to go back to it but my backlog of games is so large there's always something else still in its shrink wrap/downloaded onto my PS3 that I'd rather play instead. Will probably get GTA V eventually though, just not a priority at the moment.

I'm the same as Bindiana, have become tired with GTA since after the 3rd one although I did manage to get halfway through San Andreas before I tired of it. My friends have always raved about the spin offs which I found tedious and samey and even when I got GTA IV for £15 it wasn't long before I'd regretted the purchase and used it as a gift for a friend's birthday, same old same old..... On a different note I have to admit, I'm finally excited for a GTA game again, this one looks brilliant and fresh and am especially looking forward to the online part...

theyll be added with the swap option the same as the xbox in due time :) im really looking forward to GTA 5. ive always enjoyed them, but in GTA 4 you had to make your own fun which sucked. however GTA 5 is lookin good. especially after the online portion drops at the end of the month.
