Listen: Eddie Murphy returns to music with Snoop Lion collaboration

Eddie Murphy has made a somewhat surprising return to music this week, releasing a brand new single in the form of 'Red Light'.

The track, which is perhaps the comedian's most serious contribution to the music industry, features guest vocals from Snoop Dogg (who's still going by the name of Snoop Lion). It follows news that Eddie Murphy will be "partially retiring" from acting.

You can hear the the surprisingly listenable reggae influenced track below. It's Eddie Murphy's first music release in two decades. On top of the single release, he's also revealed plans to release a new album next year.

Changing his persona this time was a bad decision and I'm surprised he's stuck with it. His reggae album is abysmal. I think it says a lot when you decide to become a reggae artist and the best thing you do is a couple of guest vocals on a track for Eddie Murphy...

No one will come close to Bob Marley on the Reggae scene. Snoop has even tried his hand with some Korn aswell lol.
