David Bowie, Arctic Monkeys, Savages amongst Mercury Prize nominees

The nomination's for this year's Barclaycard Mercury Prize have been revealed. 

The likes of David Bowie, Arctic Monkeys, Savages, Foals and Disclosure appear in the shortlist for the award, which celebrates the best British & Irish releases of the last 12 months. 2013 is the awards' 22nd year and the winner will be following in the footsteps of talent such as Pulp, Suede, Franz Ferdinand and The XX. Last year's accolade went to Alt-J for their debut album 'An Awesome Wave'. 

The winner will be announced on October 30 at an awards ceremony taking place at the Roundhouse in Camden, London. Without further ado, the nominees are below.
