Monster Hunter 2014 announced for PS Vita

Monster Hunter is finally coming to PS Vita, in the shape of Monster Hunter Frontier G.

The online only title will be released next year in Japan alongside the PlayStation 3 and Wii U versions and like the PC version, requires a subscription.

Monster Hunter Frontier launched on PC in Japan in 2007, then on Xbox 360 in 2010 so it's not particularly new. What is new though is cross-play between the PS3 and Vita versions.

It remains to be seen if the demand for this game will be strong, we'll no doubt find out when Monster Hunter Frontier G launches in Japan in 2014.

*sigh* I just gave up and sold my Vita last week... hopefully this will come with a special console design to kind of warrant my repurchase.

Thats if it comes out over here the 360 and PC version of this game have been out for years in Japan. I would like it if it did but not too hopeful.

Nintendo sent me a link on the 3DS. They have Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate down to half price on their e-shop (£17.99.) Mighty tempted with that like.

This'll never arrive outside Japan anyway. As the article says, the game has been on PC and 360 since '07 in Japan, and they are used for gaming far more in the West than in Japan. If they've not come out on those over here, these releases won't either.
