Xbox DVR Functions limited to Xbox LIVE sharing at launch

Xbox One’s DVR functionality will only be shareable over Xbox Live at launch, although Facebook and YouTube support will arrive next year.

Speaking to Destructiod, Penello stated that captured videos will not be shareable beyond Xbox Live, but will eventually stretch to other services such as YouTube and Facebook.

Xbox One will also allow footage to be captured by devices such as Elgato HD via HDMI, while PS4 will allow video sharing via Twitch TV, although Sony is planning a patch so that users can also capture footage via HDMI.

I assume it means that there will be a separate channel for viewing them say like the theatre mode in COD or Halo where you pick someones profile and you can see the videos that they have shared.

This doesn't affect my decision on getting Xbox One over PS4. I don't intend on sharing videos. I just want to play games. And yes, at the moment Xbox One is my preferred console.
