Update: As expected, it's being reported this morning that the listing for Haf-Life 3 was a hoax with the listing now removed from the website.
Nothing really surprises us when it comes to Valve and this particular game, but the small glimmer of hope certainly got gamers talking.
Looks like it's back to square one then.
Original: Well, here's some news.
Valve have trademarked Half-Life 3 in the UK, as seen right here on the OHIM European Trademark site.
We've been waiting for what seems like ever for the third entry in the series and despite numerous rumours and false alarms the game has never materialised. Given that the trademark is quite clearly seen as being registered on September 29 by Valve Cooperation perhaps at last we have some hope?
Of course Valve could just be protecting it's IP or just trying to wind everyone up. Who knows? But if you were a company, soon to launch brand new hardware, wouldn't you want a nice brand new exclusive to help sell it?
