Japanese Charts, Sept 23 -29: Monster Hunter is a Monster

This week's Japanese Charts are in, showing Monster Hunter as the game to beat and PS Vita sales dropping below 7,000.

Capcom's Monster Hunter is quite literally a monster, which can be seen by sales of 213,078 units, bringing its current lifetime total to 2,402,077. PS Vita managed to do ok in software sales too this week, thanks to The Legend of Heroes selling an impressive 81,622 units. In fact it even outsold the PS3

Armored Core: Verdict Day debuted during with a total of 64,272 units on both PS3 and Xbox 360 combined, while The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD moved 30,264 units on Wii U.

On the hardware side it seems that Vita is suffering, although we'd imagine that's because the Japanese are awaiting the new colours that will launch later this month thanks to the release of the newly redesigned PS Vita. As you'd expect 3DS is flying, selling easily over 100,000 unit.

I think the word is staying under 7000 sales, not dripping. Was under that last week. Dunno how much sales are gonna be generated since Sony seem to be throwing the Vita 2.0 under the Pokemon bus. Monster Hunter looks like it's gonna outsell pretty much everything not named GTA or Animal Crossing as it is. And won't even be out of Japan. Impressive.
