No Assassin's Creed: Black Flag DLC for Wii U

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag’s DLC will not be available on Wii U.

The news was noticed by Polygon, who saw that Ubisoft didn’t mention the Nintendo platform in its announcement of post-launch content and the season pass. Ubisoft has since confirmed that this news is true, although without any sort of explanation, which is surely disappointing for Wii U fans.

Assassin’s Creed 4 arrives on Wii U, PS4 and Xbox One on November 22. The game will also be released on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 earlier in the month.

Guess it makes sense. Nintendo fans are used to buying full games and not titles with half the game cut for DLC. Honestly wasn't planning on getting this till the new year where it will be less than 15 quid

What a surprise, Ubisoft screws Nintendo again.

@Gloria - Nintendo screws themselves over. This is just another example of publishers not paying additional attention / putting effort into the platform. This isn't just a Ubisoft thing.

Didn't think Wii gamers would be interested in games like this any way.

So, it's Nintendo's fault because they don't make their rip off DLC so easy for them?

It's always Nintendo's fault, even if Nintendo is not involved, it's still their fault.

Everything is Nintendos fault. It's Nintendos fault for the recession, it's Nintendos fault that Game almost died, hell it's even Nintendos fault that JFK was shot

Exactly, Nox. Reason why JB and Miley are so popular is because of Nintendo.

I'm not surprised. I didn't think Wii U owners would even care about a game like this. It's partly Ubisofts fault for not including the DLC on Wii U but include it on all other platforms. Then again on the other hand Ubisoft titles like AC 3 and Splinter Cell Blacklist haven't sold well on the Wii U at all except for Rayman Legends. Also Ubisoft might be cutting support of the Wii U from 2014 if AC4 and Watch Dogs dont sell. Ubisoft is only bringing Child Of Light to the Wii U next year. I'm not hating on Nintendo but those are the facts...

I highly doubt AC4 and Watch Dogs will sell well on Wii U. Wii U was mostly targeting the younger audience and not the mainstream major games. Then again, most kids these days are not interested in kids games, and they are all playing games like CoD and GTA on PS3 and 360, so not sure what Nintendo is for these days.

Not kids like you who think they are too grown up for them.

I know its more aimed at a different market, like the younger audience. Nintendo still has its core fanbase that will buy there 1st Party exclusive games, though it's been proven that they just don't buy other 3rd Party games, with an exception of something like Rayman. I dont think Watch Dogs and AC4 will sell on the Wii U compared to other platforms. I know most kids nowadays are mainly into shooters.

I'll be getting Watch Dogs on Wii U

It has the potential to be the definitive version if the gamepad is used properly.

The only people who will buy Watch Dogs and AC4 on the Wii U are people who only own that console. Only reason people buy Wii U for is for the 1st party games, the 3rd party support just isn't strong enough, and when 3rd party games do come out on Wii, they are usually not as good as on other platforms. You'd never hear anyone saying "Oh man I want to buy a Wii U for Watch Dogs and the new Assassins Creed game"

Also, I never said I was "too grown up" for the Wii. Of course the console is for any age, but its main target audience is families and younger people, at least the original Wii was, the Wii U does seem to get a bit more "mature" games releasing on it now, but the people who would be interested in those types of games are not people who would buy a Wii so I think Nintendo are wasting their time on those games.

it's not and people can say that it's going to be another Gamecube all they want, the Gamecube was an amazing console.

I've not heard any game press praise or give credit to the Wii U, so it terms of general critics, it's a failure.

What you on? The press love ZombiU, Picmin 3 and Wonderful 101

I never said it was going to be the next GameCube but Nintendo needs to improve it's 3rd Party support. That's all im saying...

There's no point though to be honest, PS and Xbox already have that so no need for another 3rd one. Nintendo was good at what they were doing (going for the casual and family market) but that market just isn't working any more as gaming is going more AAA mainstream.

They love ZombiU? GS gave it a 4.5/10 and IGN gave it a 6.3

No one cares about GS or IGN. Destructoid gave it a 8, Joystiq gave it a 9, Eurogamer gave it a 9 but still 6.3 isn't a bad score

The day gaming completely goes AAA mainstream is the day I quit gaming. Seriously. Because 90% of the AAA mainstream games are overhyped and unoriginal. And I own a PS3 but I'm getting both Watchdogs and Assassin's Creed for Wii U. I'm just waiting until January when they're worthless. And people only buying those games because they own the console? Geez. Guess Sony and Microsoft better go home since nobody's gonna buy those two on their new console. Who is gonna want to buy a brand new console to play games they can already play on their current consoles? Silly people.

ROFL @ AAA mainstream, think you mean casual and generic.
