Sony exclusive ACIV: Black Flag DLC will never reach other platforms

Ubisoft's PlayStation-exclusive levels for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag will not be released on other platforms, the publisher has confirmed.

So that means anyone else wishing to play the 60 minutes of added Aveline levels will have to purchase either a PlayStation 3 or Playstation 4. It was previously expected that the Playstation platforms would keep this exclusive content for around six months.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag's PlayStation-exclusive levels feature an older Aveline de Grandpré, the female lead of last year's PlayStation Vita title Assassin's Creed: Liberation, and are written by that game's lead writer Jill Murray.

The hour-long "short story" has been cut up into three bonus missions and will pick up a while after Liberation's conclusion.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is out now on PS3 and Xbox 360. PC, Wii U, PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game will be available from November 22nd. Order your copy at ShopTo today.

I had the special edition of this on PS4 preordered and prepayed, but after seeing reviews about it been exactly the same as III which to me was awful, I canceled and am using that £65 towards the PS4 mega bundle instead, I'll pick it up some day, it'll probably be free on plus within six months anyway.

You can get it on PC with the download only deluxe edition.

It's really starting to wind me up now, what they're doing with DLC. Fair enough, have exclusive games for each platform, but don't do it with DLC. So I'm going to spend £50 on AC4 for XB1, and I'm now not getting the full experience, just because I chose one platform over the over.

Makes perfect sense since original Aveline's adventures were exclusive to PSVita...

Liberation is releasing for PS3 and PC to January and I think Xbox 360 is also getting it.

@Joe that doesn't make sense, surely you'd rather have a piece of dlc exclusive rather than the whole game? It's not even part of the main story (for AC4 anyway, watch dogs is a different matter). Also it works both ways, you are going to be getting some XB exclusive content for The Division next year, which I won't be able to play on PS4. It just shows you that the best option is to have both. Microsoft is stopping me from doing that atm with the Kinect bundling causing it to be overprced.
