Sony to offer PS4's at London event as demand grows

Sony has said that people will be able to grab a PS4 a midnight launch event being held at the PS4 Lounge in London’s Covent Garden on Thursday 28th November.

Launch day pre-orders for the PS4 have been sold out since August, such has been the demand from gamers for the next-generation console. The PS4s, available at the PS4 Lounge, will be on a first come, first served basis from midnight and will provide an opportunity for customers who haven’t yet pre-ordered to get their hands on a PS4 on launch day.

Queuing for the launch event will start from Thursday morning and those in attendance at the event will also be treated to an exclusive performance by Tinie Tempah.

“Day one PS4 pre-orders sold out in record time and this could be the last chance for anyone who wants to get their hands on a console before Christmas”, said Fergal Gara, MD and VP, Sony Computer Entertainment UK & Ireland. “We really wanted to offer some way for people to buy on launch day, and this is a fantastic opportunity for anyone that hasn’t already pre-ordered to get their hands on a PS4 on day one. The excitement in the run up to our UK launch has been phenomenal, and we want to thank gamers for their support by giving them the chance to take a PS4 home at the earliest opportunity.”

Meanwhile, a popular high street retailer has said that PS4 pre-order numbers are our "around four times higher than the PS3 and growing every day." It sounds like there is a lot of demand for the PS4, so if you are close to London and desperate to get hold of one then head to the PS4 Lounge, located at 17 Bedford Street, Covent Garden. You'll even be kept well fed and watered by event partners Domino’s and Red Bull.

If you'd rather wait, then be sure to pre-order your console from ShopTo below. They are still guaranteed for Xmas at the time of writing.

Sold out since August? Maybe in some places like online. I walked into GAME two weeks ago and secured a launch console with no issues whatsoever. So it does not come as a shock at all to find that there'll be plenty of stock if you just go on the day. Or can we just assume that GAME has gotten a whole deal more stock than Shopto?

http://uk.playstation.com/ps4/preorder/ Would be nice if ShopTo would match the RRP for the bundles rather than making a quick buck out of loyal users.

Shopto are a win/win, cheaper than the likes of GAME or HMV and a lot faster/more reliable delivery than Amazon. What more could you ask for

@joe tootell- Oh so they are a money making business? Not a rip off business? Or a business that respects the consumers? Perhaps they should add £20 to all the RRPs? They do and will make money from the RRP already you know!
