Latest Charts, w/b January 12: FIFA 14 is number one; Killzone in sales surge

This week's latest gaming charts are in and they see EA’s FIFA 14 claim its fourth successive No.1.

As you'd expect there are not too many new entries, although Sony will probably be pleased with the fact that Killzone: Shadow Fall climbs 13 places to number eight following a 63 per cent climb in sales. We wonder if that's anything to do with the fact that more PS4 stock has arrived?

Aliens: Colonial Marines also gets a sales surge, making its way into the top ten for some reason. We are guessing someone somewhere had a sale?

Elsewhere in the charts, Call of Duty: Ghosts is this week’s No.2, Battlefield 4 lands in third place and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag  and Grand Theft Auto V make up the top five.

Check out the charts below.

This feels like the slowest Jan for software releases for ages. Gagging for some new games....

Aliens probably has some renewed interest since the release of the Isolation trailer.

The charts keep changing length all the time, Top 40 to Top 20 to Top 10 to Top 20 to Top 10 etc. Killzone was not even in the Top 20 last week, now it is #8. It seems to have dropped from £55 to £45-£50, so that might be it.

Tried out Aliens:Colonial Marines at my friends' house. Wouldn't buy it even if it was a £1.00. I don't know what were they thinking when they released the game. Oh wait, maybe they will do a next gen version that looks like the game they advertised (sarcasm). Isolation look cool though. It is similar to Penumbra or Amnesia games.
