Ubisoft’s South Park: The Stick of Truth won’t use Ubisoft's uPlay service on PC.
"uPlay will not be featured in South Park: Stick of Truth,” developer Obsidian confirmed on Twitter, adding: “That's pretty exceptional for a game published by Ubisoft.”
The studio also added that "it's a Steam game, with Steam achievements".
Apparently gamers aren't too keen on the uPlay service, with it receiving plenty of stick in the past. Indeed DRM has been a constant issue for gamers on PC, but it seems that this particular game has been built without the service in mind, which is probably due to the fact that it was already well into development when Ubisoft acquired the rights in 2012.
