The Order 1886 has no multiplayer mode

PlayStation 4 exclusive The Order: 1886 does not feature multiplayer, according to Read At Dawn chief technical officer and co-founder Andrea Pessino.

Speaking via twitter, Pessino described The Order as a "single-player, third-person action adventure game," adding that it has "No multiplayer."

Obviously stating this lead to a number of questions as to why this is the case, to which he replied, "Better to do one thing well than a whole bunch half-assed.

"We are trying to make a SP experience you will enjoy."

Not a great deal is known about the gameplay at the moment. We know that it's a third person adventure in which you play as a member of an elite order of knights. It's also known that technology has been integrated into the game to give it a more modern/steampunk twist.

What do you think of this news?

Good news that there are developers that still want to make single player only games and not tack on pointless multiplayer.

Great news, my interest in this one just went up. Here's hoping they can make it more interesting than the other 3rd Person Shooting games along the way.

Not having a crappy tacked on multiplayer should not be something to be applauded, it should be the norm.

At last, a developer that doesn't feel the need to shoe-horn unnecessary MP into a game. Thankyou Red at Dawn

YEAH a great thing that they're focusing on Single Player only, i don't like multiplayer and these are the guys who made the epic Daxter on the PSP, which was as good as how Naughty Dog did it so i trust Ready At Dawn to make this good. The whole London Victorian setting theme is something i always wanted to try. It's on my pre-order list. :P

Ah some good news. I was intrigued by the original trailer and it's great to hear the SP is their main focus, to the degree there is no MP. Although I do wonder if such games are going to become rarer and rarer, with more and more developers feeling pressurised into making MP versions of the game.

Now that's the type of mentality that I want from a studio! I don't buy these types of games for the multiplayer.

Please describe the nature of the abuse:
