Activision's Bobby Kotick has said that he expects Destiny to be a record-breaking release when it arrives in September.
Speaking during the investors meeting which we have mentioned a few times today, Kotick said that he expects Destiny "will become the best selling new video game IP in history when it launches across Xbox and PlayStation consoles."
"We have a very strong history of meeting our dates once they are announced and we have every confidence of the game. The game looks great, and it's on track and we will deliver that.
"As of everything we do on Destiny is a partnership. The partners of Bungie are interestingly completed aligned and we're building this as a ten-year franchise and we need the best game possible."
It does seem possible that Destiny could become the best selling new IP in history. If Titanfall was on PlayStation as well as Xbox and PC then it probably would have had some competition, however with EA deciding to take sides, it seems like Destiny is on to a winner when it comes to sales, especially with such a highly regarded developer being the development.
What do you think?
