Titanfall Beta saw 2 million play the game

Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall beta ended last week, seeing around 2 million people play the game.

Respawn’s community manager Abbie Heppe told Polygon the news, while Respawn engineer Jon Shiring added that the Titanfall beta was an important test for Xbox Live and Microsoft’s cloud computing technology.

“Forza used it a little bit, but they weren't as reliant on it as we are,” Shiring told Polygon. “The game is completely reliant on it. If it's down, nobody can play."

Shiring said that while Respawn may encouter more problems at launch the beta helped them iron out a few issues before hand.

Do you think 2 million players across PC and Xbox One is a decent number? Do you think Titanfall will help shift Xbox One consoles?

Let us know what you think below.

I don't think titanfall will shift as many xbox one consoles as there expeted too,i think titanfall will sell a lot of games as its the time of year when there are a lack of games & with xbox one owners craving for some new stuff to play on there machine I expect nearly a good 90% of current xbox owners to pick up titanfall over its 1st few weeks of release,I be surprised if its selling by the buckets loads after week 3/4,i'd like to see the sales graph chart after week 4

I wonder if my 5 mins play time counted for the 2 million? If Titanfall uses the same cloud system as Forza 5 then it could be quite cool. Some people here complained that the AI was to easy, but in Forza the AI cars can vary depending and you can choose to play against noob players to experienced players. It seems that Titanfall may have the same system - as the game goes on, the AI of the NPCs will get harder and harder as it learns from the actual players. I am no fan of these games so I will not be playing it, but eurogamer thinks the game is more than what they thought http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-02-19-be-advised-i-was-wrong-about-titanfall

Titanfall is epic, it is exactly what fps needs something a bit different! I played the beta till it went offline I will certainly be purchasing, I think many users that played it will also purchase it. As for selling xbox one consoles I dont think that game alone will be a reason for people to buy one, although I would certainly recommend the xbox one to anyone.

Securing an exclusivity for a "supposed-2-b-multiplatform" game hardly can do any good for a console. Titanfall will help Xbone same way, as Bayonetta 2 supposed to help WiiU...
