South Park: The Stick of Truth censored in the UK and Europe

It's being reported that certain scenes in South Park: The Stick of Truth have been censored and replaced with on-screen text that describes what’s happening behind the censorship.

The scenes seem to centre around an abortion being carried out on the player and again with the player performing the same procedure on Randy Marsh. Five anal probe scenes have also been censored.

"Seven scenes of about 20 seconds each are censored in the EMEA console versions of South Park: The Stick of Truth. The decision to cut this content from the game was made by Ubisoft EMEA.”

Given that it only mentions the console versions, we are presuming that the PC version remains uncensored.

What do you think of this news?

I hate this news. Out of principle I'm cancelling my pre-order (sorry ShopTo, it's not your fault), I despise censorship.

Meh, another reason not to give Ubisoft my money.

I would put money on the fact that it is German censorship. The same thing happened (I believe) with Saints Row IV. All EU games are the same so if one is censored everybody else gets the same

Simple, import it ........ or join The Master Race
Loli-Nox-Tan 10 months ago
But I have joined the Master Race - Playstation 4

Where is the fun in not?
Loli-Nox-Tan 10 months ago
Fair enough, can't argue with that. I need to talk the boss round to a full PC racing rig I've seen

Why buy one? Be a Man & Build one
Loli-Nox-Tan 10 months ago
had a feeling this might happen as with the tv shows but i dont really mind as some one is buying it me for my birthday the day after love the rpg elements of it
Dark572Assassin 10 months ago
That's the point, I would build one with a REAL racing seat
Dave 'BubbaJai' Aston 10 months ago
Informative for PC Master Race. The last guy, who try to create a Master Race was Hitler, so the term Master Race is actually a degrading term.
Artemisthemp 10 months ago
Not really, the Grand Prix is a "Master Race"

One thing with the game that annoyed me was pretty much all the trophies consist of something to do with farting in varies different ways. That would get boring very quickly. I mean, how many ways can you effectively do the same joke?
Dave 'BubbaJai' Aston 10 months ago
my son laughs at every fart i pull, even the ones in his face lol ,
jay.hamilton 10 months ago
That's just wrong ... lol
Dave 'BubbaJai' Aston 10 months ago

Will the US version work if I import it?
Beazi 10 months ago
Pisses me off how people are moaning about one little thing! i guess humans aren't humans unless they're moaning.
JoeToots 10 months ago
And i've just proved my own theory correct as i'm moaning about people moaning..
JoeToots 10 months ago
This is a funny one for me, the UK airs episodes banned in the states so thanks to the EU we get a censor on it... patch for the UK? hopefully I can pick up a full version that's region free one day.
Pyroloveridge 10 months ago
Why leave the PC version though, it doesn't make a lot of sense to release both the cut and uncut versions ...
Pyroloveridge 10 months ago
The fact is if they just went ahead and cut it but didn't tell anyone no one would know the difference and no one would moan.
JoeToots 10 months ago
It could be because PC is not set to a region, whereas console versions are. If they cut the PC version then the US would be affected.
superniceguy 10 months ago
i looked on amazon.com last night and it costs £65 to import it over here after taxes are added forget that just for some extra scenes
Dark572Assassin 10 months ago
they should just make it dlc that removes the censorship and make it cost five pound for fuck sake i can anal probe aliens people in saints row 4 but in south park I can't watch a scene that will likely last only like a few minutes at best
mikehon1 10 months ago
is it really that big of a deal?
JoeToots 10 months ago
Yep.
Pyroloveridge 10 months ago
No one has explained why though, because if they did it without telling anyone you'd wouldn't know any difference i think it's an excuse for people to have a moan and a whine.
JoeToots 10 months ago
It's subjective pal, I feel I'm missing out on content that's all.
Pyroloveridge 10 months ago
ahh i see when you look at it like that i totally understand.
JoeToots 10 months ago
Cancelling and will get it on steam (Sorry ShopTo). NOBODY should support Censorship, especially since it's a blatant double standard that they seem to give games over movies or TV shows. @stooT ; It's not that big of a deal but if you support it (by buying it) then you are saying "I'm fine with you telling me what I'm allowed to see". As an adult of some 30-something years I find it downright insulting.
silkst 10 months ago
Sorry shopto going to have to import it for ps3.
ChrisAntrobus27 10 months ago
Cancelling Pre-order now. Gutted...
Paul 10 months ago
i cant understand it though, i mean look at some of the stuff tha happens in GTA5, SPOILER ALERT graphic torture scenes, and trevor murdering a couple coz they pissed him off, but some silly anal probe scenes and abortion which weve already seen on episodes of south park get banned, bit petty really
jay.hamilton 10 months ago
i admit im still getting it though , just hope we get a patch sometime in the future to remove the censorship
jay.hamilton 10 months ago
Cancelled my pre-order as soon as I heard this news (nothing against ShopTo) PS3 is multi region anyway and I just ordered the game from a North American retailer for £44. I don't agree with censorship in any way, especially in video games and especially in a game based off an adult cartoon. There's far worse things out there in video games, and besides, this has a big 18 certificate slapped on it. I think most people who play this will understand South Park humour and will not kick up a fuss over a few scenes that could be considered "offensive". Censoring this game was a pathetic choice, shame on you Ubisoft.
