Japanese Charts, March 3-9: PS4 tops hardware chart; Soul Sacrifice tops software

This week's Japanese charts are in and it seems like it was a disappointing week all around, although at least a Vita game tops the charts for once.

Soul Sacrifice Delta sold a reasonable 48,786 units sold on PlayStation Vita. On the hardware side, PlayStation 4 sold around 35,294 units making it the top hardware for the week, closely followed by 3DS and PS Vita.

It seems very quiet. Perhaps PS4 was hard to find due to supply constraint, but even if that is the case, it doesn't really explain low sales for 3DS and that of the software chart.

Maybe it's just that time of year.

I struggle to believe that the consoles sell this much each week. Surely everyone who wants a PS3, PSP & even the X360 has one by now

Home console market is dead in Japan. Going to be some major casualties across pubs and devs over there by this time next year I reckon.

Soul Sacrifice is officially a better game than Monster Hunter :) and Playstation a better system than 3DS omfg PSV did even beat 3DS

No, even when you add the Vita TV figures they're still short of 3DS and 3DS XL combined.

I can remember last year either one of 3DS or 3DS XL were outselling Vita by themselves, now combined sales of the two machines are struggling to maintain a lead on the Vita. Vita could easily be outselling them both by next week. Funny how times change.

I would like to think most people who want a 3DS have one by now.

Wishful thinking kevin.

Also are you trying to say the Vita is a better console than the 3DS? Both are good but it took the 3DS around a year (& a half) to become worth having while the Vita has started to become worth having in the last few month
