PS4 video bloggers can rejoice as they'll soon be able to use capture devices in order to record and stream direct footage on PS4 thanks to the announcement of the latest PS4 firmware, although that's not the only improvement.
In addition to the HDCP off option which allows for capturing gameplay via HDMI, PS4 gamers will also gain access to a new and rich video editor with a simple tool to personalise video clips, and will also gain the ability to export to and save the videos and screenshots created by pressing the SHARE button to a USB drive.
There’s a lot more coming in this update as well, although Sony is yet to share what this could be.
Finally, Sony has announced that as part of a separate system software update in the future, it has been working with Twitch and Ustream, and will therefore be adding the ability for Twitch broadcasts to be archived. These broadcasts will be also provided with a higher resolution of 720p, so PS4 fans can enjoy live broadcasts with clearer images.
Sounds like this could be a great update. We can't wait to hear what else is included.
