Sony to add support for popular midware solutions

SCE has announced that it has entered into strategic partnerships to bring new native solutions from popular middleware vendors GameMaker:Studio and MonoGame to PS4.

In addition to the above, fully integrated solutions for Unity are now available for PS3 and PS Vita, with the early access version for PS4 coming in April 2014.

Unity, GameMaker:Studio and MonoGame are currently the most popular game development tools leveraged by universities and independent developers so this will surely see even more games by Independent developers arriving on PS4.

The more games we get this better, so this is nothing but good news and who knows, out of all the titles on the way, maybe we'll find a few classics.

This is good news, although I'm sure there will be people complaining about more indie games. Personally I think its wrong to make a distinction between AAA and indie games, games are either good or bad regardless of whether a publisher spent millions of £ or $ to make or it was just created by a bedroom coder. Gaming industry as a whole needs people to think outside of the proverbial box instead of the bottom line.
