It's being reported that Electronic Arts has secured sequel rights for Respawn Entertainment's multiplayer shooter Titanfall.
This news comes via a Gamespot source, who told the site that the option to land Titanfall 2 was based on the performance of the original, and while official sales data is not available, Titanfall is said to have performed extremely well.
In addition to the above, Polygon reports that due to securing the rights, EA will make sure that the sequel is no longer tied to one platform, therefore we WILL see Titanfall 2 on PlayStation at some point in the future.
Titanfall launched March 11 for Xbox One and PC. The Xbox 360 version will release on April 11.
