Sony: PS4 will be limited in supply into the summer

PlayStation 4 consoles will be limited in supply at retailers into the summer, that's according to Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House.

House told the Wall Street Journal that demand for the system remains high, especially in the U.S and Europe.

"We're struggling to keep up with demand," House said. "Conservatively, as we get into the early summer months, we'll be closer to a full supply situation."

The last time we hear, PlayStation 4 had sold 6 million consoles worldwide, although we'd imagine that by now that figure has climbed significantly higher.

Microsoft is yet to update its figure for Xbox One's sold worldwide. Last we heard, back at the end of December, was that it had sold 3 million. Microsoft has promised to update its sales figures in its next quarterly report.

Can't keep up with demand? What a lovely problem to have. Looks like it will have sold around 12m by end of year.

Having held off on a PS4 until factors were more beneficial I originally was going to just get MGS GZ then saw the bundle here and snapped it up before it went out of stock :). Arrived a day early so delighted at the service and the product :). Glad I don't have to worry about supply now, saw a lot of online places out of stock.
