Microsoft has announced that Xbox One users have spent 23 million minutes broadcasting from Twitch on Xbox One since launch, while 108,000 broadcasts were streamed within the first week of the app being updated to allow for live streaming.
“Microsoft has a put a lot of time and effort into ensuring their Twitch integration would be a robust experience, and based on the amount of Xbox One owners streaming from their living rooms, the move paid off,” said Kevin Lin, COO, Twitch. “This high rate of adoption for our console integrations has elevated our role in the entertainment industry.
“People go to Hulu to watch TV, Netflix to watch movies, and now they go to Twitch to watch and broadcast video games. We’re really fortunate for such a passionate and progressive community who made this all possible.”
Apparently between March 10-11, more than 2.7 million minutes were broadcast from Xbox One which is apparently the “most ever for a Twitch console app in its first day.”
The most interesting stat is that the average Twitch broadcast on Xbox One “is nearly as long as the average American TV sitcom at 28 minutes.,” that's about 30 minutes of your time watching me fail at Titanfall.
