H1Z1 confirmed for PC and PS4

We mentioned H1Z1 from SOE yesterday after a teaser site popped up and now the developer has come out to reveal the full details of the game.

According to SOE President, John Smedley, H1Z1 is a free-to-play sandbox MMO set in Middle America 15 years after a zombie virus outbreak. In the game, players will gather resources, build shelters and work together to create structures and weapons to fend off anything that moves, be that zombies, animals or other players.

Weapons include the likes of molotov cocktails and explosives, while vehicles can also be used. There will also be crafting which is said to be stronger than other, similar titles.

Interestingly there will be no skills or levelling, instead everything is freeform, so you can choose how to play, whether you just want to find some land and grow crops, or team up with a bunch of other players and kill everything in sight, although by the sounds of things you'll need to watch your back if you choose the latter option.

H1Z1 is being built on the ForgeLight engine, and will be available via early access for around £15. The full game will be supported by microtransactions, although no details have been given on these at the moment.

As you'd expect, H1Z1 will be released on PC at first, with a PS4 version to follow.

As good as this game may or may not be but is there anyone else like me that thinks it's enough now with these "zombie" titles? What next .. "Call of Duty- The Zombies Invade" .. or .. "Battlefield 5, Zombie Killers" .. :-/

Exactly why I don't play "zombie" games. Have no idea why players love them so much...
