Unreal Engine 4 now supports PS4 and Xbox One

Epic Games' Unreal Engine 4 is now enabled for two more platforms: Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

According to Engadget, support for the consoles was announced today, although it's not just the consoles but peripherals too, including the likes of Kinect, and Sony's Project Morpheus virtual reality headset.

Of course this means not a lot to gamers, other than the fact that we'll begin to see Unreal Engine logos at the start of our games, however for developers it means that they can now consider supporting both of these new consoles for the same $19 monthly subscription fee that they are already paying.

The engine itself is being certified directly by both Sony and Microsoft right now, with Sony's PS4 already ready-to-go and Microsoft's Xbox One being in the works.

Unreal Engine 4 currently supports PC, last-gen consoles, current-gen consoles, SteamOS, Linux, and the Oculus Rift.
