Nintendo has published a new Nintendo Direct video focused on Mario Kart 8, revealing details on a new Mario Kart 8 promotion.
Basically, if you buy the game on disc or over the Wii U eShop and register it on Club Nintendo between May 30 and July 31, you’ll get a download code for one of ten selected Wii U games. The list can be seen below.
Additional details in the broadcast include confirmation of 12 player online multiplayer which consists of four sections: Global, Regional, Friends and Rivals. Voice chat is also supported.
In addition gamers can post private and public tournaments online, and you can also download player ghosts. If you beat a Mario Kart 8 developer’s ghost you’ll get a bonus MiiVerse stamp.
Finally, Mario Kart TV was also introduced, giving players the chance to check out highlight reels from their races and tournaments. Clips can also be uploaded straight to YouTube or Miiverse from within the service.
