The Amazing Spider-Man 2 released digitally for Xbox One; will hit retail later this month

The will it won't it debate regarding The Amazing Spider-Man 2's Xbox One release has finally been resolved. It has now been released digitally and will arrive at retails later this month.

Following Activision delaying the game and then releasing it on the Xbox LIVE store anyway, it seems that the “collaboration with Microsoft” to get the game in the hands of gamers has worked out.

The Xbox One retail version will arrive in stores in early May.

Reckon it was all a publicity stunt to be honest.

We'll by releasing it digitally only for the time being, people who are desperate for the game don't have the choice of shopping around. Grabs the publishers a few extra bucks right?

Yeah does seem like a strange one though from what I have seen it doesn't look that great.

Seems a little strange to be honest. If it was a publicity stunt it might have made more sense to use a good title to do something like this.

If it is not released by 16th May then may have to get it digitally, to get the achievement challenges. If it is not released until 30th May then will probably not have time to do some of them.

Yep, Bound by Flame next. I wonder if that will be released digitally this Friday on Xbox One too.

The difference with that is that they had always said it wasnt going to come out with the other versions as they got their dev kits too late. They didnt just change their minds two weeks before the game was out. http://uk.ign.com/articles/2014/01/22/bound-by-flame-no-plans-right-now-for-xbox-one

This with Spiderman 2 just shows that they do not give the full details, so who knows, but if everything said about Bound by Flame is accurate then doubt it will be released this Friday, but in Games TM magazine, they said that Bound by Flame will come to Xbox ONE if the game sells well on the other formats, so Bound By Flame is another "Will it Wont it" case
