Nintendo releases 'Wii U quick boot' trailer

Nintendo has released a video showing off Wii U's quick start menu, which arrives in a system update this summer.

The latest Wii U system update cuts loading times once more and adds new menu options, giving users a way to access the various functions of the console faster.

"We think that this function will make you feel that the time to start up a Wii U software title is cut by more than 50 per cent, and that it will also lead to more Wii U users understanding the appealing nature of the GamePad," Iwata said.

Check out a new video showing off the added functions below.

Never experienced any problem with the boot times, now if you could fix the Miiverse load time then we would be talking

I've found the Wii U boot time to be a lot quicker than the 360 as it is.

I don't see a problem with loading times anymore. Not since that first major update which cut loading times by a lot.

The 360 has one of the best load times for games (Besides PC) cos you can install your games but the boot time is horrendous

Every time I see news regarding Wii U system updates it seems they're always focused around addressing system load times.

Never felt for me loading times was an issue to be honest, still, if I can get my Mario goodness 50% quicker it can only be a good thing :)

They are caring too much about this performance boost and not enough on the core concept. While all the main consoles are showing off second screen stuff for games and shows this could have it built in!

Loading times seem okay to me already, but speeding it up can't hurt!

The only game i really think has excessive load times on my Wii U is Lego City Undercover. The rest seem great already to be honest. Nintendo really seem to be stepping up to the plate lately especially with the free game with Mario kart 8 offer, that surely will attract more people to the Wii U :) A quick heads up to other Wii U owners on here, Amazon have the high capacity batteries in stock for the gamepad for £25, wish shopto would offer more Wii U stuff for purchase on this site, especially peripherals.
