Sony dates E3 press conference

Sony has finally dated its E3 2014 press conference which will take place on Monday, June 9 at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena.

As usual, Sony is going to be the last company to hold its press conference at 6pm PDT/9pm EDT which is around 2am in the UK. The event will be streamed, although we don't have the full details of that just yet.

Better get that coffee ready.

No surprise at that they chose to be last really, Sony will wait to see what Nintendo, SteamOS and MS/XBL etc are offering this year, and then rewrite their presentation to try and make themselves look good, just as they always do.. No innovation at all, just copy or clone others ideas and services..

Considering Sony will be announcing the new Souls game as a PS4 exclusive, they pretty much have E3 in the bag already. A little Uncharted and/or God of War on top of that will be pure gravy. Will be interesting to see what MS will have to match up really, especially after last year's disappointment-fest where half the stuff they announced was CGI trailers only and the most interesting title they showed (Black Tusk's new IP) has since been cancelled.

I wouldnt say just because they have a new Souls game that may be exclusive that they have it in the bag especially this close to having just released Dark Souls 2 they should leave it a bit. Not really fussed about God of War but 50/50 on Uncharted 4 as long as it is better than 3 then it should be good though havent quite a few high up people at Naughty Dog left recently? I am sure there will be a decent amount for Microsoft as well with Forza Horizon 2, Fable Legends and Quantum Break. There will also most probably be a Halo 5 trailer and if the rumours ar are true a Halo wars 2. Either way I am sure that all of them will have a lot of new announcements.

5 or 6 people left Naughty Dog... out of a staff of... what, hundreds? Plus they've been hiring new staff during that time as well. They're working on 3 games at ND alone right now including The Last of Us remaster. Doesn't seem like their productivity has been hit any. As to the MS stuff you list, who'd make a Halo Wars 2 seeing as MS shut down the developers of the first game the second it came out? What's the appeal of Halo 5 when it's from 343, the studio who made the single worst Halo game in Halo 4? Fable Legends is some multiplayer dungeon crawler rather than an actual RPG like the rest of the series, so that's shit the bed too, imo. Don't really care about Forza and I don't fancy Quantum Break's chances of a release any time soon seeing as Alan Wake on 360 took 5 years to come out after it's announcement. Remedy are not an efficient studio.

Was it not quite a lot of the high up ones though? Granted a lot of them wont take much to do with it if they are that high up. I like the idea of Fable legends and Quantum Breka but not really fussed about Halo 5.

Only two really high level staffers they lost were the directors of Uncharted 3 I believe. I could be forgetting someone, but I don't think anyone else on that "level" was among those leaving. There were a few higher up departures from Sony Santa Monica at the same time though, are you sure you aren't maybe mixing those in with the ND departures or something? ;P

Could be, though it was a writer or something but like you said could be getting them mixed up.

I really can't wait for this years E3, i'm hoping for The Last Guardian, Gravity Rush 2, new projects and Naughty Dog's new game. Hopefully it's a new Jak and Daxter game Naughty Dog have been hinting Easter Eggs of them in The Last Of Us and The Last Of Us: Left Behind, and word has it they're building the third team which could be reason for a few people leaving the company. If it's Jak i'm going to cry...
