Watch Dogs has been in development for five and a half years and finally it's gone gold.
This means the digital master has been sent, the discs are being printed and on May 27 we'll all be playing it.
The first time we saw the game was at E3 in 2012 and everyone was really excited at its fresh new world. When it was due to arrive at the launch of the next generation consoles it was on everyone's lips, but now after a long delay its release is within touching distance.
“It’s exciting to be gold, but it’ll be more exciting when people are playing. For the fans it means that it’s true. It means there will be no such thing as another delay,” creative director Jonathan Morin said on the UbiBlog.
“But for us, it’s not done until they actually have it in their hands.”
Watch Dogs arrives on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on May 27. The Wii U version will arrive at a later date.
