Watch Dogs goes Gold

Watch Dogs has been in development for five and a half years and finally it's gone gold.

This means the digital master has been sent, the discs are being printed and on May 27 we'll all be playing it.

The first time we saw the game was at E3 in 2012 and everyone was really excited at its fresh new world. When it was due to arrive at the launch of the next generation consoles it was on everyone's lips, but now after a long delay its release is within touching distance.

“It’s exciting to be gold, but it’ll be more exciting when people are playing. For the fans it means that it’s true. It means there will be no such thing as another delay,” creative director Jonathan Morin said on the UbiBlog.

“But for us, it’s not done until they actually have it in their hands.”

Watch Dogs arrives on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on May 27. The Wii U version will arrive at a later date.

me too, to be honest they need to be posted on friday or its not gonna happen for tuesday, only 50 percent of packages posted on saturday will make it for the next working day, thats providing its posted early enough, i think bank holiday will provide problems for watch dogs in the UK

Wolfenstein is also a Tuesday release and mine is processing just now so it should be ok for watch dogs.

I completely forgot it was bank holiday just before this game is released. Hopefully retailers will take that into consideration when they send out the game. I don't like Tuesday releases for games though, as places sometimes send it out on Monday and you don't get it till Wednesday.

I don't think Ubisoft are normally as strict as Activision when it comes to release day, although I could be wrong
