Watch Dogs becomes most pre-ordered new IP in Ubisoft's history; Most pre-ordered new IP this year

Ubisoft has revealed that Watch Dogs is now the most pre-ordered new IP in Ubisoft’s history and the most pre-ordered new IP in the entire industry this year.

Watch Dogs is also the second- highest pre-ordered Ubisoft game ever.

“These strong pre-orders are a clear indication of players’ anticipation and excitement for Watch Dogs,” said Geoffroy Sardin, Senior VP Sales and Marketing at Ubisoft. “The teams have worked tirelessly to ensure that players will enjoy a top quality game with enormous scope, and we can’t wait to get the game into their hands.”

“We are seeing tremendous excitement for the new Watch Dogs game,” said Michael van den Berg, vice president of Merchandising at GameStop International. “In fact, Watch Dogs is the highest pre-ordered next-generation console game to date. It is on track to be one of the top selling video games across all consoles in 2014.”

The development of Watch Dogs has been led by Ubisoft Montreal, in collaboration with teams at Ubisoft Bucharest, Ubisoft Paris, Ubisoft Quebec and Reflections, a Ubisoft studio.

Watch Dogs is out later this month. Pre-order below.

This level of hype can only end in disappointment.

From the next gen versions I have seen it looks absolutely outstanding. HOWEVER it again comes down to playability. If it looks amazing but plays like a slug on wheels then it'll be very disappointing

At least it is something completely new that hasn't been done before. Deserves credit for that. Personally I can't wait to hack everything I see

This game does look great but I have this nagging doubt at it. I'm still going to get it though and hopefully i'll get proven wrong.

I'm not following the Hype so I won't be. I'm expecting something like The Saboteur

.Mediocre dross, you probably won't be disappointed then.

The Saboteur was Ok, wasn't the best but it was enjoyable

As long as I have some fun with it I will be happy.

I'm still not sure about this game, i will probably get bored of it quickly.. The game also got downgraded and it didn't look as good as when they first revealed it. I will see how the reviews are and make my decision then.

When it was first revealed it was running on a PC. All the footage now is from the PS3 version is it not?
Loli-Nox-Tan 11 months ago
If it is that's bloody impressive
Beazi 11 months ago
It happens games all the time when first announced they show target footage not actual footage. Not a fan of it myself but it does happen.

The PS3 still has some legs left in it

Can see why when it was first reveled it got a big following and i too just got the feeling in my mind that it won't be able to last through the whole story with out getting old and repeated , just hope i am wrong though

I will still keep my PS3 even once I get a PS4. The reason being my games library includes all Dead Spaces and some real treats like Deadly Premonition, Terraria, Bulletstorm and Unreal Tournament 3 which is bloody amazing and fully customisable supported by thriving communities online and levels can be ported to your PS3 game by USB (if you can find it pick it up)

Plus the PS3 is an impressive bit of kit too.

Yep a lot of hype but it could turn out really good only time will tell.
