Blinkbox now available on Xbox One

Tesco's streaming media app Blinkbox is now available for Xbox One, with no sign or word of it appearing on Playstation 4 or the moment.

It joins existing apps on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The new Xbox One app will give users access to the very latest blockbuster movies and popular TV series, including 12 Years a Slave, The Wolf of Wall Street, Inside Llewyn Davis, Hannibal, Girls and Game of Thrones.

blinkbox Managing Director Adrian Letts comments: “Our developers are working harder than Hugh Jackman’s personal trainer to give customers access to the very latest movies and TV shows on their favourite platforms and devices.

“We’ve been on the Xbox 360 for a while and together with PlayStation, we’ve seen games consoles overtake computers as popular devices for enjoying our service.

Hang on - Blinkbox has only just been added to the XboxOne and is still not available for PS4? Xbox360 and PS3 have had it for ages - why are the next gen consoles taking so long to add media like this? Blinkbox isn't as good value as something like Netflix, but it's good for renting brand new releases - and it usually has special offers every Monday.

We need the manga & hulu app already for the ps3,360 & the wii-u. Blinkbox is just overpriced & naff in my opinion.
