Homefront: The Revolution announced

Homefront: The Revolution has been announced by Deep Silver. The game is under development at Crytek.

Apparently it's a game about guerrilla warfare which is set in Occupied Philadelphia in a nightmare near-future dystopia. Homefront: The Revolution casts the player as a civilian-turned-freedom-fighter who must rise up and lead the Resistance against a superior military force and ignite the Second American Revolution.

The game has been described as having a open world structure, you will have to master the art of guerrilla warfare and use sabotage, assassination, deception, infiltration and hit-and-run tactics to erode your enemy’s iron grip on the city.

Homefront: The Revolution will also feature four-player co-op, allowing you and your friends to form a Resistance Cell and work together to overthrow the KPA regime.

You can check out the first trailer below and will see some gameplay come E3 via the form of yet another new trailer.

I enjoyed the first though it just ended as it seemed to be starting.

Why is every game "Open World" now? I can't be the only one that is sick of having one just for the sake of it?

Interesting concept, but grey FPS is grey FPS. Here's hoping the game play mechanics make up for dreary visuals. (not able to check video, only seen screengrabs)

I agree there are too many open world games that are just empty, don't get me wrong some are good if they pull it off right. I think the worst recently in terms of openworld for me was Infamous it just felt like it was lacking in terms of the world.

Not played Second Son so I can't comment but the downright worse imo was LA Noire

Surprised to see Crytek releasing something on PS4... though I guess Deep Silver probably wouldn't have given them much choice on that score.

Its Crytek Uk that are making it and they made Haze which is sort of responsible for them going under before they were bought by Crytek which was a PS3 exclusive.

LA Noire was bad for that. Its one of the things I like about Watch Dogs just now as it seems quite busy with lots going on.

Are you referring to Son of Rome Kevin? If so then it was an Xbox exclusive since it was originally a Kinect game

LA Noire didn't need to be an open world game at all, they could have just had cutscenes between missions rather than tedious point to point driving, and it would have improved the game no end.

or each division could have had its own little sandbox

In LA Noire there were detective things you had to do in the game, i got bored of the game quickly and couldn't be bothered to finish it.

No shit. It was a game about being a detective

" Are you referring to Son of Rome Kevin? If so then it was an Xbox exclusive since it was originally a Kinect game " - That's part of it... that together with them choosing to have 360 be the only console they release Warface on (Despite that being proven as the worst digital environment for F2P titles to launch) and them towing the MS company line last year ("Resolution doesn't matter." "DRM rules." etc) led many of us to believe Crytek were basically going to be this gen's Epic games when it came to console support is all.

I really enjoyed the first Homefront, I like how it pushed itself in the right direction in the story. Bring on E3.

Im shocked there's another game in the making since the first one flopped so bad. Yeah I agree with nox not every game needs to be open world.

Please describe the nature of the abuse:
