EA to show off new Criterion title at E3 2014

EA is preparing to show off plenty of new titles at E3, according to a new schedule posted on Gametrailers.

According to the site, Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson will reveal Battlefield: Hardline and world premieres nearly a half-dozen new games, including updates on Mirror’s Edge, Dragon Age: Inquisition, a new project from Criterion Games, and more.

Ghost Games is currently working on a new Need for Speed, so Criterion's title is much of a mystery, especially since co-founder Alex Ward and Fiona Sperry left Criterion, after Ward suggesting he wouldn’t be making any more racing games. Indeed after Ward left Criterion begun hiring for a Vehicle related post, suggesting that Wards visions of no more racing games clashed with EA's own vision. Could a Burnout revival be in the works?

It's hard to know what else EA has to show. There is no doubt that some Star Wars titles will be in the works since Star Wars: Battlefront is in the works at DICE. It's probably too early to show off Visceral’s Star Wars game though.

EA owns all manner of other properties too. Could we see a new Simpsons game? After all, Tapped Out has been a very large money maker for EA.

We'll find out next week, which is quite exciting.

It's not going to be Burnout, they said last year they wanted to do something different, so it's unlikely to be any sort of racing game. Wouldn't expect much from Criterion any more anyway, the founders have left and EA have split the company up so the bulk of staff have gone to develop NFS.

Hopefully it could be Burnout, but if its not burnout then I'm not interested in what game they're making.
