E3 2014: Mario Maker to be announced by Nintendo?

Nintendo could be set announce Mario Maker at E3 2014, if a leaked image of marketing material is to be believed.

The image, obtained by Nintendo Enthusiast suggests that Mario Maker will allow you to create your own 8-bit era Mario levels using a stylus, although from the picture it's difficult to tell if the game will release on Wii U or Nintendo 3DS.

Nintendo will not hold a press conference at this year's E3, but will instead host a special Nintendo Direct, as well as streaming other special shows. The Japanese giant will attend E3 though, allowing attendees to get hands on with its games.

Saw this earlier, could be good if it lets you upload and share your levels.

That's really cool, I can imagine some brutal levels being created.

So it is the Rpg maker for Mario? That is a great idea

I suppose that was the next logical step after the NES Remix thing... but if it's just 8-bit Mario tech and designs then there doesn't really seem much point unless it's a free to play thing... because selling what essentially boils down to a rom hack kit to people smacks of a cynical cash grab otherwise. Allow people to build their own Super Mario World levels and then I'll be impressed.
